Seeking unbiased support for your pregnancy and birth?

A birth doula is on your team before labor even begins. We will spend time talking with you about the things you consider important: your family, your home, and the expectations and fears that you may have about birth and parenthood.

Our birth package includes at least one prenatal consultations, during which time your doula will listen to your desires for birth and develop strategies to fully support you physically and emotionally during your labor in a way that will best fit the needs of your family. Prenatal meetings will also be a time when your doula will help you create a formal birth plan that can be presented to your medical team. Working with a Rejoice! doula also grants you continual phone, email, and text support throughout your pregnancy to answer all of your questions and alleviate your anxieties, as well access to your doula's library of pregnancy and childbirth books and resources.

Your doula will join you either at your home or at your birthing location soon after labor begins and will remain by your side throughout your labor—from start to finish. She will remain with you until after your baby is born, and will stay to help mom and baby establish a good latch, if you chose to breastfeed.

The role of a doula is a very specific one. We do not provide any sort of medical services, such as vaginal exams, listening to the baby’s heartbeat, starting IVs, or catching the baby. Instead, we are here to support you, encourage you, and help you be your own advocate for the birth experience you desire. We do not privilege homebirth over hospital birth (or vice versa), and we will not judge how you choose to manage pain during labor. We are educators and active listeners, and will support whatever path you decide is best for you and your family.
