The Bradley Method®
The Bradley Method® series is designed for small classes with lots of individual attention. This course meets once a week La Vergne (north Rutherford County) for Saturday morning classes, and in Nashville for Monday night classes. Over the course of the series, you will learn about prenatal nutrition and exercise, relaxation for a more peaceful birth, how to create a birth plan that your provider will want to read and respect, and how your partner can best support you in your pregnancy, labor, and childbirth--all with the aim of an unmedicated birth. With registration, each couple will receive a student workbook, access to the instructor's library of pregnancy and childbirth books and resources, and all the techniques and strategies possible for accomplishing your best birth.
Classes cover a variety of topics including nutrition and exercise in pregnancy, the physiological processes of pregnancy, planning your birth, managing labor, variations and complications of childbirth, breastfeeding for success, and much more.
I recommend starting class in your 4th or 5th month of pregnancy.
Classes are $375 per couple (including a $100 non-refundable deposit due at registration).

This class is a comprehensive look at the journey of labor, birth, and immediate postpartum. Rather than focusing on just one aspect of these three phases of parenthood, this class will allow for a more in-depth examination of the often-discussed and not-so-often-discussed parts of the birth journey. We will discuss everything from natural induction methods (and whether or not they are truly effective) to pushing positions to newborn care. The goal of this class is to leave the expectant parent feeling prepared and knowledgeable of all aspects surrounding birth and bringing home baby.
This is a comprehensive class that goes beyond just the “basics” of breastfeeding. This class will cover a wide range of topics, such as the physiology of breastfeeding, how to overcome the common challenges that can occur during the breastfeeding journey, how to create a pumping routine while nursing, and much more. This class will allow both the breastfeeding mother and any partners who wish to support her to gain practical knowledge that will allow for a smooth and enjoyable breastfeeding journey.
Breastfeeding: Back to Work
Navigating the complexities of breastfeeding while working can be a daunting task. This class offers practical information on storing breastmilk safely, utilizing your breast pump effectively, and understanding the rights granted to breastfeeding mothers in the workplace. Learn all you need in order to continue your breastfeeding relationship after returning back to work.
Infant Care Education
Bringing Home Baby: Infant Care
The goal of this class is to focus on what is often glossed over in many birth classes: the fact that you, the expectant parent, will soon be bringing home a new baby -- now what? This class will instruct soon-to-be parents on the ins and outs of infant care: bathing, when and how to take temperatures, methods for feeding baby, and more. This class will leave expectant parents feeling confident in their ability to effectively care for their new baby, without relying on Google for answers (at least, not entirely).
