A birth doula is on your team before labor even begins. We do not privilege homebirth over hospital birth (or vice versa), and we will not judge how you choose to manage pain during labor. We are educators and active listeners, and will support whatever path you decide is best for you and your family.
During two prenatal consultations, your doula will listen to your desires for birth and develop strategies to fully support you physically and emotionally during your labor in a way that will best fit the needs of your family. Prenatal meetings will also be a time when your doula will help you create a formal birth plan that can be presented to your medical team. Working with a Rejoice! doula also grants you continual phone, email, and text support throughout your pregnancy to answer all of your questions and alleviate your anxieties, as well access to your doula's library of pregnancy and childbirth books and resources.
Your Rejoice! doula will join you either at your home or at your birthing location soon after labor begins and will provide continual labor support until after your baby is born. She will remain by your side offering physical, mental, and emotional support throughout your labor.
As a Certified Lactation Counselor, your Rejoice! doula can offer lactation support immediately following the birth by staying to help baby establish a good latch, if you chose to breastfeed.
Your Rejoice! doula will offer up to two hours of postparum support immediately after the birth. She will also provide an in-home postpartum consultation in the days following.
Our birth package includes all of the above services. Fifty percent of the fee is due at booking, and the remaining 50% due at 37 weeks gestation. Packaging flexibility and payment plans are available upon request.
